The past two years, University of Minnesota campus has witnessed a new and exciting change within the faith-based groups. Students and other members of the community collaborated and are having respectful discussions about faith. Out of these discussions, the Multifaith Student Council and the Interfaith Campus Coalition (ICC) were established.
A whole week was dedicated to Multifaith promotion in front of Coffman Memorial Union. Passerbys got to see firsthand the different types of worship, hospitality and spirituality views and even got free loaves bread.
Beginning in April of 2014, under the supervision and support of Dr. Danita Brown, Vice Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Minnesota, Cody begin a project working with over a dozen different units on campus, including equity and diversity, housing, dining services, the leadership minor, the GLBTA programs office, and others. The goal of the task force is to determine what steps the university of Minnesota might take to support religious and spiritual identity on campus. This work involves everyone at the U, and is a piece of a larger national story taking place around how religious and higher education professionals might work collectively to support the training of global citizens.
